Pittmon Map Company/ The Better Map Since 1907
The first Pittmon Map of Portland, Oregon, was published in 1907 so we have celebrated our 100th year of making quality maps. Besides our own maps of Oregon and the Pacific Northwest, we carry maps and travel books covering the entire world (and even a few that go beyond), as well as globes and map-related items. Our store is conveniently located half a mile east of downtown Portland at 825 SE Hawthorne Blvd. and is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. If you can't find parking in front of our store, you are welcome to park in the lot of Oregon Blue Print, our parent company, at the corner of 8th & Hawthorne. You can reach us by phone at 503-233-2207, fax at 503-232-7348 or by clicking the e-mail button below.
The tabs to the left will take you to any type of map and any area of coverage. After "New Products," the next five refer to our own Pittmon Maps, the rest to others that we carry in our store. If you can't find what you want, there's a good chance we can find it for you.
A click on "Wall Maps" and you can see the extents of all our Pittmon wall maps like Eugene, pictured right. "Book Maps" will show a listing of cities, towns, and counties found in our wire-bound street atlases. "Pocket Maps" will take you to the covers of our folding maps with a listing of the cities and towns included in each. "Map Samples" will show you what our various types of maps look like, to scale. In "Custom Maps" you can find out from what areas we can create a custom map for your individual needs, including a sample of different scales.
A click on "Recreation" will take you to the pages of our Map Catalog that show the recreational atlases we carry, as well as National Forest, Wilderness Area, Trails Illustrated, Green Trails, and U.S.G.S. maps. The "World, U.S., City" page lists folding pocket maps of countries, states, and cities, from across the U.S. and around the world, along with showing a few of our hundreds of travel and recreation books. The "Globes, Wall Maps" page shows some of the globes we carry or can order as well as raised relief maps and wall maps, including those by National Geographic, Raven, and IMUS. Finally, the "Miscellaneous" page lists items for marking maps, costs for laminating, mounting, and framing maps, along with other map-related items.
